Hi but potatoes are not actually part of the vegetables in the balanced food pyramid, they are in the carbos kinda group-at the bottom of the pyramid. Which also means you have to take most carbos in your diet. I do not really recommend carbo-proof diets for a breakfast meal as breakfast is proven to be the most important meal of the day.

Having a little carbo for breakfast isn't so bad even to the extent of being on a extremely strict diet. After all, you do burn them off when you walk around more or less.

Indian breakfast need not have meats. However, most indian foods are spicy and require gravy which is something you do not want if you are on a very very extremely strict diet and if u do not have time in the morning to make the gravy. For example, try going a little vegetarian with a slice or a few slices of bread/pitta bread and if preferred bake them in the morning before going to work. Then add a little salad to your lunch box from Indian themed recipes.
Here's an example:

INGREDIENTS
2 cups grated carrots
1/2 cup bean sprouts
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon grated fresh coconut
1 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro
1 tablespoon sunflower seed oil
1 teaspoon mustard seed
salt to taste
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, gently toss the carrots, bean sprouts, sugar, lemon juice, coconut, and cilantro.
Heat the oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the mustard seed, and cook until golden brown. Mix into the salad. Season with salt.

Low carbs…you'll be starving by lunchtime!

Have a wholesome mix of fruit and fibre

your best having a higher fat content in the morning, then you wont' over induldge on them throughout the day. I have peanut butter on toast and fruit n fibre sometimes. Just make sure it's the good fats you have

Buy some takeaway cups, and make yourself smoothies and put in berries with unsweetened yoghurt and milk. Yes, there would be a tiny amount of carbs in the fruit - but it would be pretty minimal, unrefined AND nutricious, delicious and filling.

Why not make up a smoothie before you leave the house - my fave is strawberry

    100 mls of skimmed milk
3 tbs of low fat natural yogurt
    hand ful of strawberries
    sweetner if you need it

blitz with a hand held blender and pour into a screw-top container.

Simple and filling - you can use any combination of fruit. Any low carb diet that bans fruit should be avoided.

For breakfast, perhaps boil some eggs the night before and have them cold? Pre-Packaged ham is simple, or perhaps canned tuna?

As for starchy vegetables, corn is probably the highest carbohydrate content, as is sweet potato, carrot, potato and pumpkin.

I don't know that particular diet but in a similar situation, I brought a smoothie to work with me.

1/2 cup sliced strawberries, raspberries or peaches - fresh or frozen
    1/2 cup cottage cheese
    1/4c plain yogurt
add a little sweetener you want or ice if using fresh fruit.
The strawberry version (my favorite) has 17g of protein and 9g of carbs which is pretty low.

Otherwise, you could go for meats you can cook at home and eat cold, like chicken and shrimp, or get some smoked salmon. I did these for lunch.

Starchy vegs: peas, corn and beans (pinto, fava, lima)

i dont know how you feel about this, but you could try eating atkins products…like for example this morning i had the pancake made from the recipe on the back of the baking flour container…and only has 6 carbs…
